Palin Definitely Mixes Religion and Government

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a “task that is from God.”

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it “God’s will.”

I don’t know about you, but people who know “God’s will” make me really nervous.

  1. We have had 8 years of example in the George Bush administration of this type of theology. When you evoke “God” into your argument of what you’ve decided to do….the argument is a da….show stopper. Very scary and dangerous for a person in the highest and most powerful in the world. Hope the people of this nation are wiser than to elect her and McCain.

  2. Having been raised with Palin-knockoffs — people who armed with only a high school education still knew that God had directed our nation to destroy the Commies — I understand this fear-based mindset only too well. One can only pray for human evolution and to be a living example of an open mind, and trust in the universe to carry us through to what is next. This blog is a great example of the tools we all need for that journey!

  3. Obviously, they project their own will on to some entity they imagine for themselves and justify their presumption by giving it the name of “God.” Scary. Always has been, always will be.
