GULF COAST HURRICANE RECOVERY STUMBLES TO THIRD ANNIVERSARY

DENVER, Colorado, August 26, 2008 (ENS) – Three years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast and flooded 80 percent of New Orleans a new report from international relief organization Oxfam America launched at the Democratic National Convention reveals the slow pace of recovery in the region and urges the next administration to make recovery a national priority.

  1. Perhaps. However, one hopes that some good can come out of “renewed” effort. This speaks greatly, though, to the failings of the current Executive, whose manifold weaknesses you are quite aware of.

    Thanks for stopping by. I was referring to the hurricane tracking chart beneath the post that expresses a high probability of a Cat. 3 or 4 storm hitting NOLA this weekend or Monday. In that respect, rebuilding the levees to the small extent it has been accomplished, and the other myriad works that should have been completed in the past 3 years are, indeed, TMTLTL — in my opinion — and are likely to be the distal cause of more deaths and other tragedies that were preventable.
