just a note: the Sue the Buddha blog is no longer active. It appears to have been deleted (according to the error message). You might want to update the list cheers and thanks again. I’ve discovered some great blogs through you. namaste.
Yeah. I’ve gotta go through the list after the holidays.
hi, you have posted the information about “South Africa Denies Dalai Lama Visa”. There is a statement and petition by Archbishop Desmond Tutu to the Dalai Lama which can be signed, could you kindly post it on your blog?
Online petitions are useless. They’re simply a way for people to massage their egos and pretend they’re accomplishing something without any real effort or commitment. There is nothing to keep me from signing one however many times using different names, and no way to confirm the validity of the signatures.
Politicians know that. If you want to impress them, take the time to write a real letter — or at least an email sent individually.
"If indeed the qualities such as love, patience, tolerance, and forgiveness are what happiness consists in, and if it is also true that compassion, defined as concern for others, is both the source and the fruit of these qualities, then the more we are compassionate, the more we provide for our own happiness."
~ HH the Dalai Lama
Metta Prayer
May all sentient beings have equanimity, free from attachment, aggression and prejudice.
May they be happy, and have the causes of happiness.
May they be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.
May they never be separated from the happiness that is free from suffering.
