meditation which I use-I watch MTV in morning time for 1/2 an hour and I feel relaxed physicaly, mentally and siritualy.I have been doing this since 4 years. When I spoke to a Jesuit priest that I am using the above meditation techniqe,he said its perfect .He added whatever relxes you and calms you is meditation.Of course I donot watch MTV at night because there are more nude songs which might trigger ny character defects. In India we have the facts that in wild jungles when some animmal like deer etc listen to music-it cools them.I am not talking about Radio blistening becoz it makes me irritable.MTV or Music television keeps me busy visually alongwith audio.

For me, that would be distraction rather then meditation, but as the old song goes, "Dif'rent strokes for dif'rent folks."

In the context of the article, "...to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood him," it would certainly be so -- but not all meditation has that purpose.
